A little bit about me:

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from University of Connecticut, a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development & Psychology from State University of New York, Empire College. I’ve worked in education, human services and social work fields since 2000.

I strive to create a welcoming and friendly environment for my sessions. Expect a casual and calm environment (my office is like a living room) where you can get comfortable and feel free to talk. I am interested in working with anyone regardless of identity, race, ethnicity, or lifestyle.

While I do focus on men’s issues, everyone is welcome. Nearly half my clients are female or gender-neutral/non-binary adults and teenagers.

Why focus on men’s issues?

You might have noticed there is a major lack of male therapists in your area. There are many statistics available to show that men are less likely to seek and attend therapy. We call this suffering in silence, and it’s not good for anyone. Adult men are also more likely to attempt suicide than any other demographic and more likely to experience trauma in their lives. Many men have been taught either through family, culture, or media, that having emotions or seeking help is not masculine.

Learning to care for yourself and let go of the old masculine ideals that have little or no place in today’s world, can help you be a better partner, husband, father, and friend.

Some methods I use: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Solution Focused Therapy and others. Currently, I’m working on learning more about Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and on treating sexual dysfunction and other sex health related issues.

Some areas I specialize in: anxiety, stress, trauma, mood, grief, social skills, life changes, relationship issues, and self-esteem issues.

Please expect to come to therapy once per week in the beginning (first 12 sessions), I will not schedule new clients for every-other week appointments, it’s very difficult to form a good working relationship and make progress if we only see each other every other week.

I do not currently offer services for marriage or couples therapy, addiction, alcohol or substance use, and eating disorders.

Please see the Policy Page regarding insurance, payment, fees, and expectations.
